Rapidus: Camurus is “Company of the Year”Headquartered in Lund, Sweden, Camurus provides innovative nanoscale drug-delivery systems. Camurus has just launched its first product to the U.S. and sublicensed another product to Novartis. Now Camurus has also been appointed as “Company of the Year” by the Swedish newsagency Rapidus. Financial survey of unlisted biotech companiesFor the third consecutive year, Medicon Valley Alliance has conducted a financial survey of the unlisted biotech companies in Medicon Valley. Overall, the 48 companies participating in the survey raised fresh capital totaling DKK 694 million in 2011. In addition to the financial circumstances of 2011, the analysis also focuses on the companies’ expectations in terms of their financial position this year (2012). |

South Korea heads for Bio-top 7A cocktail of economic growth, a rapid shift to a more Western lifestyle and a growing population that is getting older has made South Korea one of Asia's fastest growing pharmaceutical markets. The Korean medical market with 50 million people is by now the 4th biggest in Asia and 15th in the world. Despite the great potential there is still a relatively modest attention on South Korea from the Danish and Swedish life science companies in Medicon Valley. This was one of the conclusions at a seminar organized by Medicon Valley Alliance on IPR rules and issues in South Korea. |

Medicon Valley and Massachusetts form Groundbreaking Agreement on Health ResearchLeveraged by the Life Science Ambassador, Torsten Jepsen, Region Skåne, Region Zealand and The Capital Region of Denmark have now signed an agreement with Massachusetts, US, designed to strengthen and develop the collaboration between the two regions within life science. The agreement is the first of its kind and will allow for enhanced research collaborations, exchange of researchers and students between Medicon Valley and Massachusetts, easier access to US research funds and enhanced business development in the Öresund region.
