Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI)

The IMI is an unique partnership between the European commission and the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA).

The initiative aims to accelerate the discovery and development of better medicines by removing bottlenecks in the drug development process. It focuses on creating better methods and tools that improve and enhance the drug development process. The overall objective is to enhance Europe's competitiveness by ensuring that its biopharmaceutical sector remains a dynamic high-technology sector.

MVA aim at ensuring a high level of regional particpation in IMI and a high influx of EU research funds to the region. Our main tasks are to inform about IMI, provide regional stakeholders with a profound understanding of criterias of succes, establish platforms for public participation, and facilitate the submission of high quality Expression of Interests (EOI's).
