Why Is the MVA News Production Put on Hold?

The frequent user of our media will have noticed that Medicon Valley Alliance currently don't publish news at www.mva.org and Medicon Valley TV. The reason for this is that we are currently evaluating our role as news provider and accordingly, we are restructuring all our news activities. Instead of the daily publishing of individual news, we will regularly bring up topics of general relevance, providing you with a good overall view of the opportunities, challenges and problems facing Medicon Valley. Join MVA's Annual Meeting 2009 on 29 October

What is the European Spallation Source and how will its placement in Medicon Valley affect the life science research conducted here? The Medicon Valley Cross-Border Award 2009

At the Annual Meeting 2009, MVA will introduce the Medicon Valley Cross-Border Award within science and business. The annual Medicon Valley Cross-Border Award of DKK 25.000 will be presented to a person acting within the Medicon Valley life science community. The overall purpose of the award is to recognise the many initiatives that unite life science organisations in the region and to advance opportunities in the region aiming to improve science and/or business in the region. Join the competition and nominate your candidate for the Medicon Valley Cross-Border Award 2009. Read more


Combine Bio Partnering Meeting and Great Skiing in Whistler

Come and join one of the foremost life science events of the year - the annual Bio Partnering North America meeting, which takes place in Vancouver on 24-26 January 2010. This is where small aspiring companies meet with larger companies, big pharma and venture capital - a place where business gets done. News about the Life Science Ambassador Programme

Three New Ambassadors to the Life Science Ambassador Programme

The Life Science Ambassador Programme is now being expanded to also include South Korea and Canada, and will involve the exchange of three new Life Science Ambassadors. The work of the three new Life Science Ambassadors will be to establish business relations, research partnerships and networks between companies, investors, universities and hospitals in British Columbia (Canada), South Korea and Medicon Valley. The three new Life Science Ambassadors are:

Søren Harbel, British Columbia's Life Science Ambassador to Medicon Valley
Morten Fæster, Medicon Valley Life Science Ambassador to British Columbia, Canada
Christian Rhee, Medicon Valley Life Science Ambassador to Seoul, South Korea

All members of MVA will be invited to book a meeting with the Life Science Ambassadors on the next Ambassador Day, which will take place on 3 November at MVA premises in Ørestad. Read more


Canada Joins the Life Science Ambassador Programme

LSBC, short for Life Sciences British Columbia, has joined the Life Science Ambassador Programme as its second exchange partner with both inbound and outbound Life Science Ambassadors now in place. LSBC's participation in the programme gives Medicon Valley companies and research organisations the chance to develop new partnerships with life science stakeholders British Columbia. Read more

Biomedical Educational Collaboration across the Sound

The cross-border Medicines Research Academy has now been launched. Discussions started in connection with the work for Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) some 3 years ago, and now 11 faculties from 4 universities in Sweden and Denmark have joined forces to collaborate regarding PhD courses and research training: Lund University, the University of Copenhagen, the Technical University of Denmark and Uppsala University. Millions of Euros wait to be used in the Øresund Region. Only about 9 MEUR out of 52 MEUR has been granted of the Øresund allocated money from the EU to enhance cross border development in the region. Danish and Swedish Universities and Companies to Fight for EU Funds for the Baltic Sea Region

The EU Baltic Sea Region strategy was released on 25 June. However, Danish and Swedish universities and companies have to be pro-active in order to gain influence on concrete activities and their future financing.
