AVE0010/ZP10 Phase III Development Program to Begin in First Quarter of 2008

12 February 2008 - In the first quarter of 2008, Sanofi-Aventis will start Phase III clinical trials on the GLP-1 agonist AVE0010/ZP10, licensed by Zealand Pharma A/S, on more than 3.000 diabetic patients. The intention is to evaluate the effect against the prevalent treathment (metformin, sulfonyrea and insulin) and to compare with exantide in a monotherapeutic study. Application for the marketing permissionis expected in 2010.
