High Level of Scientific Research in Medicon Valley

A new analysis of the most quoted scientific articles with Danish participants emphasise the high level of scientific research in the Medicon Valley region.

Three universities; the Danish University of Technology, the former Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University, and the University of Copenhagen, all from Medicon Valley are highlighted in the analysis. In particular Søren Brunak, Jannick D. Bendtsen, and Henrik Nielsen from the Center for Biological Sequence Analysis at DTU are mentioned for their scientific contribution. Their scientific article "Improved Prediction of Signal Peptides: SignalP 3.0" is the highest ranked article with more than 900 quotations.

The analysis is based on the Science Citation Index and performed by the Technical Knowledge Center of Denmark. The analysis includes scientific articles published in international scientific journals from 2004 to ultimo September 2007.
