19 December - A clinical phase I trial of Biovitrum's 5-HT6 receptor antagonist (BVT.74316) has now been successfully completed. This first clinical study, with the objective to test safety and tolerability in escalating single-dose and repeated-dose administration was started in August 2006. 18 December - NeuroSearch has enrolled and dosed the first healthy volunteers in a clinical Phase I study with ACR343 with a view to develop this drug candidate as a new treatment for Parkinson's disease. The Phase I study is a randomized, double-blind and placebo-controlled single ascending dose study to evaluate the safety and tolerability as well as the pharmacokinetic profile of ACR343 after oral administration.
