Medicon Valley Academy has signed an exclusive Global Law Firm Partnership Agreement with the American law firm Morrison & Foerster. The agreement will strongly support the development of the Medicon Valley Ambassador Programme.
“This is the first global partnership agreement Medicon Valley Academy has signed,” says Managing Director Stig Jørgensen, Medicon Valley Academy. “With this agreement we not only get a substantial funding to boost our international network relations, we also bring in world-class competencies within patent, licensing, M&As and other legal aspects. Such competencies will be crucial whether it is connected to our international activities or deals between companies and institutions from Medicon Valley and international players participating in the Ambassador Programme.”
Morrison & Foerster has been involved in a number of life science deals world wide – also in Medicon Valley. Thus, Morrison & Foerster was the legal partner when Fisher in 2006 acquired BioImage from Copenhagen. Morrison & Foerster was also partner on two Medicon Valley Academy events in 2006; ‘Strictly Financing’ at the Opera in Copenhagen in June and ‘International Issues Facing Life Science Companies’ on top floor of Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel in December.
As part of the agreement, Morrison & Foerster will be exposed as Medicon Valley Academy Global Law Firm Partner in numerous events, publications and on www.mva.org.
“Considering our international strategy, Morrison & Foerster seems to be the obvious choice since they have a strong track record within life sciences and due to the fact that they are present with offices in most of the top 10 bioclusters we approach in the Ambassador Programme. Now we are screening the market for other multinational organisations that can be strong global partners within accountancy, recruitment/executive search, business travelling, etc.”, Stig Jørgensen ends.
