Medicon Valley is one of the only bioregions in Europe with capacity to attract global companies and buck the trend with European and Asian companies being absorbed by the two American bioregions Boston/New Jersey and San Francisco.
Despite the fact that Medicon Valley has the potential to be ranked among the best in the world, Florian Schönharting, Partner of Nordic Biotech, holds the view that success might not be taken for granted. If we are to beat USA and China he stresses the necessity to recognize and learn from the winners:
- To win, which means to be financial independent, one must forget about envy and instead be pleased of the success stories in Medicon Valley, says Florian Schönharting.
He puzzles over the prevalent envy within the Medicon Valley region, and stresses that entrepreneurs and investors must consider the winners as heroes and treat them with greatly respect.
- It's not a shame to go down, but it is definitely a shame to stay down. The success stories should serve as an inspiration and motivation for those lagging behind, Florian Schönharting comments, and further he emphasis that failure often becomes a natural part of a winner's progress.
The need for mental power
If Medicon Valley are to match the performance of the world class bioregions Florian Schönharting underlines that it is not just about biotech, but also about mental power. MVA are capable of participating in breaking down these mental barriers and Florian Schönharting thinks that "mental workshop" where great motivators like Anthony Robbins could provide inspiration for a culture where winners are treated like heroes and envy is forgotten.
