Positive results from BioGaia

Medicon Valley Academy member BioGaia, with laboratories in Lund and headquarter in Stockholm, has signed agreements with Novartis and Ferring Pharmaceuticals. The company also reached a positive result in Q1.

BioGaia is a biotechnology company that develops, markets and sells probiotic products with documented health benefits. The products are primarily based on the lactic acid bacterium Lactobacillus reuteri (Reuteri), which has health-enhancing effects.

The recent agreements allow Novartis to use Reuteri in medical nutrition products, and Ferring to market Reuteri drops on several European markets. BioGaia AB is quoted on the O list of the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
