Today five o'clock Camarus was voted as the best private biotech company in Medicon Valley 2007. Camarus won as the best out of six Danish and Swedish biotech companies that competed for six British investors' favour and money at Strictly Financing Award 2007.

The biotech companies in Medicon Valley (The Øresund Region) have more success than ever. Billions of DKK flows in received capital and large agreements are being signed. To day Camarus won the award as the best private biotech company in Medicon Valley at the Strictly Financing Award 2007. More than 100 national and international investors and business leaders attended the selection that took place in the Royal Opera in Copenhagen.

Hard struggle between six nomineed companies
Six nomineed biotech companies from Denmark and Sweden had each 15 minutes to convince the panel of judges that precisely their company is the best in Medicon Valley. The panel of judges consisted of six British investors that with 100 billions DKK in their pockets focus their eyes on the regions future biotech successes.

"We are delighted and honoured for the award, mostly because the competition was so hard", said CEO Frederik Tiberg from Camurus. This day has proven that Danish and Swedish biotech belongs to the upper part of solid and strong companies. The award is a recognition of our potential to stay successful, and we are pleased with that.

In the panel of judges it is agreed that Danish-Swedish biotech puts on an impressive performance.

"The standard of the six companies was very high, and it was a close race. Nevertheless we chose Camarus partly because they were able to demonstrate a thoughtful and costeffective strategy", said Patrick Lee from the British investor Advent Venture Partners on behalf of the panel of judges and added: "We will not be surprised, if we see an IPO among the nomineed companies shortly".

Consultancy for 100.000 DKK

With the award, Camarus won consulting services for 100.000 DKK from PricewaterhouseCoopers, which was the main sponsor for Strictly Financing Award 2007.

"Every nomineed companies gave a great businesspresentation, which shows the considerable potential that exists among the biotech companies in Medicon Valley. With this award we hope to contribute to Camarus' further development", said Torben Jensen, Partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers at the award ceremony.
