In as little as two months, the first life science ambassador to Medicon Valley, Dr. Takashi Asada from Kobe-Kansai in Japan, will take up residence at MVA's office in Orestad. During the MVA Jubilee Dr. Asada met with MVA members for the first time, and Peter Hønggaard Andersen, Vice President of Research at Lundbeck, speaks warmly about future cooperation with Dr. Asada. At the jubilee, three high school students from Medicon Valley were rewarded for their visions of the future life science sector in Medicon Valley. Milena Laban from Sorø Akademis Skole carried off the 1st prize for her inspiring open-minded and innovative thinking. The other finalists contributed with creative future scenarios, encompassing ideas of personalised medicine and what one might call a ‘science city'. Read more

MVA has just introduced a 40-page marketing brochure about science and business in Medicon Valley. The brochure outlines the region's strengths and competences within life science and offers an insight into business environment, science base, access to talent, access to capital, support clinical structure, infrastructure and quality of life in Medicon Valley.

In connection with the MVA's Jubilee, a Japanese delegation of nine people visited Medicon Valley over a three-day period. Among others, the delegation met with the Permanent Secretary of the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Biomedical Centre at Lund University, Lundbeck, Novo Nordisk, Zealand Pharma and Biotech Research and Innovation Center (BRIC).
