The Danish and Swedish participation in the first EU HEALTH call 2007 resulted in 135 approved projects, equalling 25% of the applications. Though satisfactory, it could be even better. Due to minor application errors, proposals with high scientific quality can be rejected. According to a rating produced by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the University of Copenhagen is the best university in Scandinavia. On 16 August, MVA had the privilege of hosting a delegation from Beijing, China. The delegation included high-level representation from the municipal government, universities and science parks, among others. The purpose of the meeting was to initiate discussions with regards to including Beijing as a participating region in the Medicon Valley Life Science Ambassador Programme. Read more
On 3 September, MVA was visited by an Indian delegation of five journalists representing the leading newspapers in India. The purpose of their trip was to see how the Baltic region is currently developing. MVA contributed to the programme by introducing the delegation to the Medicon Valley region and the Danish-Swedish cluster collaboration. They left with a positive impression and a new understanding of our region.
On 5 September, BioM, the Munich cluster organisation, visited MVA in order to learn more about the triple helix collaboration model between industry, universities and hospitals in Medicon Valley - a model that Medicon Valley is renown for worldwide and upon which MVA builds all our activities.
