As of 1 July Medicon Valley Academy has officially taken the name Medicon Valley Alliance with the payoff 'Clustering life science'. The new name and payoff signals our move from primarily a university driven collaboration starting in 1997 towards a full fledged cluster organisation in 2007 embedded in Medicon Valley's business, science and public sector.
The name 'Academy' has created confusion among our stakeholders, because it signals a strong anchor in academia. Looking at our members representing business, science and the public sector, the name Medicon Valley Alliance better reflects the substance of our organisation. We are an alliance of public and private players with a common goal of clustering life science in Medicon Valley. Thus, the new name better tells the story of who we are and what we do.
The change of name should be seen in the context of the strategic and organisational development that we have gone through the last year. This is furthermore reflected in the new mission statement from Medicon Valley Alliance, which you can look into here.
Following the decision on the new name, a new graphic identity and logo has been developed. Of paramount importance www.mva.org has been redesigned and restructured to improve the usability and value. The new website gives an enhanced insight to the our projects and networks, which we now call MVA Initiatives.
Moreover, the website provides easy access to news, calendar and not the least information about the Medicon Valley region. Visit our website and become familiar with the new opportunities!
In the redesign of our three media www.mva.org, MVA Newsletter and MVA Calendar Service we have made space for advertising and sponsorships. If you are interested in advertising or sponsoring opportunities, please contact Communication Manager Anne Katrine Nørgaard at akn@mva.org.
Ten years have passed since Medicon Valley Academy was established in 1997. The life science cluster of Medicon Valley has gone through an extensive and impressive development since then and now it is time for Medicon Valley Alliance to look ahead for the next decade!
We do this by hosting a jubilee on 30 October 2007 in the Copenhagen Biocenter. Please save the date and join us in celebrating our 10 year anniversary. Read more
