Medicon Valley Academy X-mas newsletter 2003

Dear members and friends of Medicon Valley Academy,

Medicon Valley Academy (MVA) has had a very busy year 2003. Thank you very much to everybody, who have contributed to and participated in our events and/or to the development in The Øresund Region in general.

During New Year we will publish our new MVA Financing Guide, with references to 75 regional and international investors. It has been an interesting work, which now is completed. For our members the Financing Guide is free of charge. Everybody else will be able to buy it for a significant reduced price, made possible by a number of sponsors, who have supported this important work.

We will be back in 2004 with an activity program. We will continue our network building, and keep on presenting interesting topics at our Business Academy lessons. In collaboration with Stockholm International Fairs and Bella Center we will arrange the Biotech Forum, which will be one of the biggest meeting places for the European biotech people in 2004. We will also focus more intensively on the role of our hospitals in the regional collaboration and on the mechanisms, which can contribute to increased inflow of venture capital to the region.

At the MVA Annual Meeting on 31 March 2004 MVA strategic working groups will present its action plans for 2004, together with proposals for strategic and political initiatives on innovation, technology transfer and creation and exploitation of the regional knowledge platform.

We, The MVA Board of Directors and the staff, are therefore looking very much forward to next year’s ongoing collaboration with all of you.

We hope that the New Year will bring along the positive development within biotech that has been observed in United States in 2003.
