MVA and Medicon Valley in Danish and Swedish print media 2001/2002

Media coverage of Medicon Valley Academy in Denmark and Sweden almost doubled in 2002 — from 136 articles, features, etc. in 2001 to 258 in 2002. Coverage in the Swedish print media in particular increased significantly, from 30% of total coverage in 2001 to 46% in 2002.

The region also attracted a great deal of publicity in 2002 — almost a mention a day in the Danish or Swedish press. Again, Swedish coverage rose significantly from 2001 to 2002. The data for coverage of Medicon Valley in 2001 reflects the extensive media coverage of the decision by the American biotech company Biogen to set up in the region.
