> Read the article "Mission possible" published in the Danish newspaper Weekendavisen 17 June 2005.
The aim of the mission was to get an overview of the relevant competencies as well as possible complementary skills within the visited regions in regard to the Medicon Valley strongholds. In this way, the mission was able to seek opportunities for future collaboration areas within the UK-MV Challenge Programme.
The three pronounced biotech regional networks (ERBI, London Biotechnology Network and BioNow) together with UKTI hosted the mission, since Medicon Valley believe that there are/will be mutual interests between our regions.
This mission was the first scouting of a number of collaboration potentials and activities within the UK-MV challenge programme, which will be followed up by the involved universities, companies, financiers etc. A return mission of UK to Medicon Valley will hopefully follow within the next 6-12 months.
MVA is currently organizing a survey of existing and planned collaborations between UK and MV research groups, tech transfer units, science parks, companies etc. This resulting "collaboration database" will be supplemented with the identified collaboration activities from the mission, to become the basis of the work onwards within the UK-MV Challenge Programme.
