Notes from Project Management network meeting 1st of December 2005 from 15-17

We had four presentations regarding work and scope of project management:
- Andrew Makin, LAB Scantox
- Magnus Glad, Bioinvent International
- Hanne Hemmingsen, Medicon
- Thomas Strandet Jepsen, CMC Biopharmaceuticals
- Carsten Niemann, CNE procesteknik

From these presentations we debated the following “common” PM problems:

• Poor communication (esp. between different departments)
• Over commitment (saying no)
• Handling unexpected results
• Lack of evaluation and feedback
• Over promising (Sales vs. delivery)
• Transition from sale to delivery
• Handling the customer’s poor lines of communication
• Making demands to the customer’s organisation
• Get the customer to recognise and accept what you have experienced before

Next meeting is on the 3rd of February from 13-15.
The meeting after that is set for 4th of April from 15-17
