Medicon Valley Drug Development Day

Medicon Valley shall be the place where pharmaceutical development is in a class of its own and where the Medicon Valley Drug Development Team takes the lead. To achieve this vision, MVA will gather CROs, CMOs, service providers, project managers and regulatory consultants within drug development in Medicon Valley to discuss the strategic challenges in the years to come. One of the goals is to strengthen the region by marketing the strong drug development qualifications internationally.

On 23-24 January MVA will host the Medicon Valley Drug Development Day (MVD³) in Ystad. MVD³ is a 24 hour workshop involving the CROs, CMOs, service providers, project managers and regulatory consultants within drug development in Medicon Valley. The goal of the workshop is first and foremost to agree on a mutual strategy within preclinical and clinical development for the region and secondly to discuss how the competences held within the region can be marketed both nationally and internationally. The workshop is concluded with the participants presenting their ideas and strategies for a judging panel consisting of representatives from local biotech, big pharma and the Associations of the Pharmaceutical Industry.

This workshop is the first step in the endorsement of preclinical and clinical research in Medicon Valley, where the main objective is to map and profile the excellent competences held in Medicon Valley. These competences can be marketed as a "full packet-service" from the region which can seperate Medicon Valley from the rest and thus create more business to the service providers here. Next step besides marketing could be to involve the regions and hospitals in the discussions regarding preclinical and clinical reseach environments.
