Medicon Valley Outsourcing Survey

As part of the work already initiated within the Medicon Valley CRO network, we are conducting a study of the Medicon Valley outsourcing environment. The study will bring forward conclusions on current outsourcing patterns in Medicon Valley and furthermore analyze the rationale behind local sponsors (Medicon Valley pharmaceutical and biotech companies) current selection of CROs. Moreover, the study will present plausible explanations on why Medicon Valley CROs only receive a rather limited part of the studies outsources by Medicon Valley sponsors.

The study will be conducted in two stages. The first stage is a questionnaire survey sent to all Medicon Valley CROs, biotech and pharmaceutical companies. The questionnaire is tailored to each group of companies. The second stage is qualitative interviews used to get a more in-depth understanding of reasons behind the current outsourcing patterns. The study is expected to be finalized in December.
