Leonardo BioCulture  

The Leonardo BioCulture project aims to raise the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in the life science sector through the creation of language & culture training resources. The project lasts from November 2007 to October 2009 and is funded under the European Commission's Leonardo Transfer of Innovation scheme and match funded by European partners.

The project's three key partners have during the spring 2008 interviewed in total 140 companies about their international communications requirements. You can read about the results in the Audit Analysis. Based on these results, materials have been developed to meet the needs of the SME's. Thoses language & culture resources are available to download from Business Culture Support.

Business Culture workshops for free

Materials will be tested on SME's in each region. MVA offered workshops, free of charge, with focus on business culture in Japan, UK, US, China and Germany.

Project Partners

Partners of the Leonardo BioCulture Project are the East of England Development Agency (lead partner), ERBI (England) the Medicon Valley Alliance (Denmark & Sweden), the Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (Finland), the BioIndustry Park del Canavese (Italy together with local partners in France and Switzerland), the Bulgarian Association of Regional Development Agencies (Bulgaria) and Dialogue Language Services (England).

The project focuses in particular on biotechnology Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) which are involved in international research & development or have customers and suppliers overseas.
