Medicon Valley Drug Development Network

The aim of the Medicon Valley Drug Development Network is to share knowledge between Project Managers in drug development to further develop their competencies in the field.

Drug development is extremely time- and resource consuming. Highly efficient project management in all phases is therefore of the uppermost importance. Adding knowledge and skills and reducing failures in the development management may reduce the time from idea to market significantly and thereby increase the patent protected sales period and consequently also the return of investment.

The Drug and Device Development Guide was published in collaboration with the network in 2005.

Seminars and conferences

MVA organises seminars and conferences on relevant topics for the network. In 2006 and 2007 most efforts have been concentrated on the following specialized initiatives:

• Drug Development Day 2008 - a 24 hour CRO workshop
• Innovative Medicines Initiative - for medicines development methodology
• InJection - an EU project around innovation and financing of medical device development
• Project Management - a network for project managers and courses in Project Management Coaching
