This year the Medicon Valley BioConference is a three-day event and part of the Scandinavian Biotech Arena. Scandinavian Biotech Arena is the common name for the three parallel biotech events: CONNECT Biomedical Partnership Forum, BioTech Forum and Medicon Valley BioConference 2002. Each event has specific focus area and separate programmes.

Ole Plougmann Award
In memoriam of patent attorney Ole Plougmann, the Plasmid Foundation granted an award of DKK 50,000 to a young person (under 35 years). The winner of the award was Kasper Almholt from Finenscenter in Copenhagen
