Career

Dr. Anders Åkerlund joined Astra Draco (Lund) in 1995 as a Section Director in the Clinical Development Department. In 1999, he moved to be the Global Project Physician for Rhinitis and Allergy covering all phases of development, including the NDA for Rhinocort in the US. In 2001 he took on as Director Respiratory Clinical Science Section in Lund, later also including the staff at Charnwood. In the reorganisation 2005 he was appointed Director for Medical Sciences in Sweden and became Vice President for the swedish region in 2006, leading a organisation of 1200 staff. Has since been on CDLT.

Prior to joining Astra, Anders Åkerlund was a Otorhinolaryngology Consultant at South Älvsborg Central Hospital, Borås with academic affiliation to University of Lund.

Anders Åkerlund is an M.D. graduate of Uppsala University, and earned his PhD in nasal pathophysiology in 1993 and executive MBAin 2002, both from the University of Lund.
